My name is Rock Frampton. I've been teaching high school art for 10+ years. I've designed this website as a resource for my students, for other art teachers, and for anyone interested in art and art history. I'm passionate about education and the power creativity has in life. This site has educational resources for my students, instructional materials for teachers, and links for my full curriculums available for purchase.
I'm really excited to have the opportunity to help guide you on your artistic journey. I believe that the real power of art is in its ability to build our creative muscles. Our lives are rapidly changing. Technology is shrinking the world and giving competitive employment opportunities to people all over the globe. It's important to be smart, its important to work hard, but their is a third ingredient to success in our modern world: creative thinking! You may not want to be an artist one day. You may want to be an accountant, a doctor, a mechanic, or a business owner. It doesn't matter what you want to be as long as you understand that being creative in your future life pursuits will bring you more success. The art classroom, if taken seriously, is a great place to work out your creative muscles and improve your creative mind!
GET TO KNOW A LITTLE BIT ABOUT MR. FRAMPTON
This is a picture of my cute little family! My wife Michelle is a talented photographer & stylist. Her company is called Miesh Photography. (www.mieshphotography.com) We met in an art history class at SLCC many years ago. We love to travel, eat good food, and make art together! This is also a picture of my adorable dog Maggie the spotted poodle.
I love a wide variety of art. Ceramics and painting are the mediums that I most often use to create my own artwork. I studied Art Education at Utah Valley University where I received my bachelors degree in Art Education. I continued my studies at Western Governors University and received a masters degree focused on curriculum and instruction. And most recently I successfully became a National Board Certified Teacher. |

I love what I do, and I have had a lot of success in my classroom. I genuinely enjoy the process of designing, structuring, and refining my instructional content. Over the last ten years i've been lucky enough to work with lots of students who started from never working with clay to eventually earning a 5 on their AP Studio Art Portfolio. This website has information for students, but if you're a teacher and want to pull back the curtain on how my classroom runs, then check my curriculums out here: Mr. Frampton's Art Classroom
I genuinely want to get to know each of my students. The better I know my students the more effectively I can guide them in their own art making process. In my art classes, students will have the opportunity to express what is important in their lives, and how they like to spend their time. With that being said, I'd like to share a few of my favorite hobbies with you
Making Art
There is something really special about expressing yourself through art, it's one of the most fulfilling things in my whole life. This is an intaglio print of my wife's favorite camera!

Basketball
I love playing basketball. I've even had a few opportunities to coach! My favorite NBA team is the Utah Jazz.

TravelingEven though we don't have much money, my wife and I save all our pennies so that we can travel to new places and have new adventures together!
